The French Saint-Martin Tourist Office held a very unique and exceptional event inviting tour operators, travel agent, airline managers and the press on the roof of the Empire Hotel in New York during a tropical evening on October 4th 2012!
All tourism professionals attended this meeting to learn about the destination and meet the island tourism stakeholders of in this paradise in the heart of Manhattan.
This period is the ideal time in the United States to organize such event, an American tradition that the French Saint-Martin Tourist Office wants to preserve.
A presentation was made during the evening by Aida Weinum and Suzanne Scantleberry in charge of the promotion for the U.S. market on:
- The new Delta flight between St. Maarten and New York from December 15th 2012
- The new hotel classification "Made in St. Martin"
- The reward program in collaboration with the Questex in 2 phases :
1- Enables travel agents to become a St-Martin specialist to learn all there is to know about the French half of this 2 nation island and boost their bottom line among Francophiles and Caribbean-loving travelers alike. St-Martin Specialist qualify for unfettered access to the island’s many unique attributes, exclusive entry into the St-Martin Rewards Program and much more as a preferred partner.
2- Reserved especially for St-Martin Specialists, this all new rewards program has over 170 prizes up for grabs and even booking bonus incentives.
Kate Richardson spoke to the press about the new classification system for hotels and residences on the French part of the island.
Following these presentations, the guests of the evening were invited on the Empire Hotel rooftop where the Chef Jewel Daal prepared typical Saint-Martin dishes to the rhythms and sounds of devilish Ricky the Fox.
