QUIKSILVER KING OF THE GROMS 2010 (qualifying series)
The King of the Groms has 15 years of age: tens of thousands of participants around the globe have tried their luck to be qualified on this essential, international trial.
This competition was created to detect young talents surfing on the best spots on earth.
Each year the KOTG reveals to the public and the world of professional surfing, new prodigies that are exclusively to 16 years old or less surfers.
Quicksilver assures to the one and only winner of the event, a full funded year of Junior Pro competition around the world.
A pretty nice way to access the international events.
Jean-Sebastien Lavocat who is the owner of the surf club Windy Reef is for the last 4 years the official organizer of this event for Quicksilver Europe in the French Caribbean.
- A first day of competition is scheduled in Guadeloupe on May 7th and 8th in le Moule.
- The qualifying round in Martinique on May 15th and 15th.
- The final of the F.W.I (French West Indies) qualifying series will take place this year in Saint-Martin.
The 4 best surfers qualified for each series (a total of 12) will compete on the Galion waves on June 4th and 5th 2011.
Only the top 2 of this F.W.I final will have their winning ticket and their qualification for the European KOTG Final on August 25th and 26th on the spot of Newquay in England.
